The 2009 SAS Conference will be held July 10-12 at the Savannah College of Art and Design’s Atlanta campus (http://www.scad.edu ). (The school’s main campus is in Savannah.)
The conference is being put on by the school’s Animation Department (located in both Atlanta and Savannah) along with its Cinema Studies Department in Savannah. I also am happy to announce that ASIFA-Atlanta has agreed to be involved with the conference.

SCAD-Atlanta is located in the city’s Midtown area, convenient to the Woodruff Arts Center (which includes the High Museum of Art), Center for Puppetry Arts and the historic Fox Theater. In addition to Animation and Cinema Studies, SCAD offers programs in such animation-related areas as Broadcast Design and Motion Graphics, Sequential Art (including Storyboarding) and Visual Effects, as well as Film and Television.

We are still in the preliminary planning stages and welcome any and all suggestions members may have regarding the conference.

The best way to reach me is via email at either hdenerof@scad.edu or harvey@deneroff.com .

Charles daCosta, my counterpart in Savannah and conference co-chair, can be reached at cdacosta@scad.edu or charliechristian@gmail.com .

Hope to see you all in Atlanta in 2009!

Best regards,
